Bristol
Charities came into being as a result of the 1835 Municipal
Corporations Act and the Trustees adminster those charities
that, prior the Act, were under the control of the Corporation
of Bristol.
Subsequently,
many other charities have been brought within the administration
of Bristol Charities and that process continues today. The
oldest charity was founded in 1395, and the most recent was
formed in 2003, six hundred and eight years of charitable
activity within the city.
Today,
Bristol Charities focuses on three core areas:
Older
people's residential and day care services more...
Grant-giving
to individuals from a series of endowments and legacies
left by Bristol benefactors
more...
Professional
management services to other charities with
the City of Bristol more... |
