Bristol School Children Step Out to Support Older People

Children from Clifton College Preparatory School have raised more than £6,000 for Bristol Charities' new centre for older people at Henbury.

They organised and took part in a sponsored walk to raise the money, which has been presented to Bristol Charities. All the money will be used to help fund the new Day Centre at Henbury.

Head Teacher Dr Bob Acheson said: " It is important for the future well-being of society as a whole that we ensure that the young understand the needs of the old and are prepared to take responsibility."

" I am very proud of the way the children have worked hard to make a contribution towards a generation whose past sacrifices demand our support."

"We shall continue to raise money for the Henbury Day Centre in future years"
